Project: Kruk Architekci | Photography: Nate Cook
Minimalist form, balanced proportions and a conscious use of material — this is how the project by Kruk Architekci can be briefly described. The building’s façade is finished with our Retro facing brick, offering an example of contemporary architecture that embraces traditional materials while interpreting them in a fresh, modern way.
The building’s volume is defined by simple, horizontal divisions and clear geometry. The raw character of the form is softened by the brick façade, which adds warmth and a timeless quality to the architecture. The facing brick, in its natural and restrained tone, works harmoniously with concrete details and large glazed openings, creating a coherent and elegant composition.
The project aligns with the principles of contemporary modernism — restrained in expression yet highly conscious of material choice. Here, brick is not merely a cladding element; it becomes a key component in shaping the identity of the building. Subtle variations in texture and surface irregularities allow the facing brick to interact with light, changing its appearance throughout the day and under different weather conditions.
Photographs by Nate Cook perfectly capture the character of the project, highlighting both the architectural discipline of the design and the subtlety of the materials used. The images emphasize the relationship between the building and its surroundings, as well as the way the brick façade integrates into the modern landscape — not dominating it, but complementing it harmoniously.
This realization demonstrates that hand-formed facing brick finds its place not only in historical or rustic architecture, but also in contemporary, minimalist designs. It is a durable, authentic and timeless material — precisely what today’s architecture demands.
