The Small German Brick 27 × 13 × 7 cm is a handmade brick inspired by the traditional format used in historic German and Central European architecture. This format was frequently used in the construction of tenement buildings, industrial buildings, city walls, and during the restoration of historic buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries, making it still highly valued for the reconstruction of historic brick architecture. We mainly produce our Small German Brick in the Melange colour palette, combining natural shades of orange, red, and cherry red. The natural colour transitions created during firing in the traditional Hoffmann ring kiln give each brick its individual character while creating a cohesive and elegant composition on a façade or in an interior.
The Small German Brick format is an excellent choice both for the restoration of historic buildings, the reconstruction of historic walls and industrial buildings, and for modern architecture inspired by loft or industrial styles. Its distinctive proportions create a particularly expressive and traditional masonry pattern, closely resembling historic structures found in former German and Prussian architecture.
Upon individual request, the brick can be produced in a more expressive colour palette inspired by our Retro or Zendra models. An aged version with a distinctive, rustic surface texture is also available.
Our products are made exclusively from natural raw materials, without chemical additives, dyes, or plasticisers. Thanks to our traditional production technology and handmade forming process, we guarantee the highest quality and the unique character of every individual brick.
