The Monastery Brick 28.5 × 13.5 × 9 cm is a handmade brick inspired by historic monastic architecture and the monumental brick architecture of past centuries. Its distinctive, tall format is reminiscent of bricks used in the construction of monasteries, churches, defensive walls, and representative historic buildings. This makes it an excellent choice both for the restoration of historic buildings and for modern projects inspired by traditional brick architecture. We mainly produce our Monastery Brick in the Melange colour palette, combining natural shades of orange, red, and cherry red. The natural colour transitions and subtly varied texture created during firing in the traditional Hoffmann ring kiln give each brick an individual and authentic character.
The greater height of the brick creates a particularly substantial and calm masonry pattern, closely resembling historic monastic and ecclesiastical buildings. This model pairs beautifully with both classic architecture and modern loft, industrial, and contemporary barn-style projects, where natural materials and a distinctive brick texture play a key role.
Upon individual request, the brick can be produced in a more expressive colour palette inspired by our Retro or Zendra models. An aged version with a distinctive, rustic surface texture is also available.
Our range includes numerous types of visible surfaces and colour options for handmade bricks. These include the Melange, Retro, Cherry Red, Red, Orange, and Zendra models, as well as aged variants with a more raw and rustic surface texture.
Our products are made exclusively from natural raw materials, without chemical additives, dyes, or plasticisers. Thanks to our traditional production technology and handmade forming process, we guarantee the highest quality and the unique character of every individual brick.
