Our brickyard has been operating continuously since 1976. The fourth generation has preserved the knowledge of the secrets of their craft. Founded by Hipolit Trojanowski, we have produced over 50 million bricks since our inception. We are particularly successful in the field of conservation, as evidenced by the awards and distinctions we have received. We have assisted conservators and conservation firms in the reconstruction of as many as 300 historic buildings. Moreover, we have worked with over 1,000 individual and institutional clients. Hand-formed brick is our pride.
To this day, we produce our bricks using traditional, artisanal methods. This is our flagship product, and its recipe has remained unchanged for over 40 years. This type of brick is characterized by its potential applications, including:
As previously mentioned, our factory specializes in the production of bricks for renovations and reconstructions. Our hand-formed bricks have been used in projects such as:
We would like to introduce you to our most famous projects:
The Royal Castle in Warsaw and the Kubicki Arcades

This Baroque-Classicist royal castle certainly needs no introduction. For its reconstruction, we used Gothic bricks and large German bricks. The Gothic brick measures 29x14x8 cm, while the large German brick measures 28x14x7 cm. These are hand-formed solid bricks and facing bricks. They traditionally have a uniform face and a red color. When ordering in our store, you can customize the dimensions.
Fun fact: between 1971 and 1984, we donated a staggering 50,000 bricks to the reconstruction of the Royal Castle.
Archcathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Andrew in Frombork

It is a Gothic church built between 1329 and 1388. The first complete renovation of its interior took place between 1887 and 1891, resulting in its current appearance.
When restoring the basilica, we used Gothic bricks and large German bricks – the same ones used in the Royal Castle. Of course, both are hand-formed bricks.
St. Mary’s Basilica in Gdańsk

It is also known as the “Co-Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary” or the “Crown of Gdańsk.” Interestingly, it is the third-largest religious building in the world built of brick. This textbook example of brick Gothic was built between 1346 and 1502. Here, too, we used hand-formed Gothic brick.
Manufaktura in Łódź

The current shopping center was formerly the Izrael Poznański Linen Factory. This Neo-Romanesque structure was built between 1872 and 1892, while the newly built Manufaktura opened in 2006.
The conservator performed a tremendous amount of work here, restoring a whopping 45,000 m² of 19th-century brick facade. This was also possible thanks to the use of our large and small German bricks, as well as standard bricks. Unlike clinker bricks, we, of course, produce them in our brickyard using artisanal methods.
While a large German brick measures 28x14x7 cm, a small German brick measures 27x13x7 cm. A standard brick measures 25x12x6.5 cm. Each brick has a water absorption of 16-18% and a compressive strength class of “10”-“15.”
Toruń Town Hall

The Old Town Hall is a Gothic building constructed in stages during the 13th and 14th centuries. Its distinctiveness makes it one of the most outstanding examples of medieval burgher architecture in Central Europe.
During the restoration work carried out between 2003 and 2005, the building material used was our often-mentioned Gothic bricks.
Warmian Bishops’ Castle in Lidzbark Warmiński

The Bishop’s Castle dates back to the 15th century and took just over 150 years to build. It is another exceptionally valuable Gothic monument in Poland. Hand-formed bricks—Gothic and abbey—were used in its conservation. The abbey brick measures 28.5 x 13.5 x 9 cm. This is another product that can be customized during ordering—please visit our store for details.
Wawel Royal Castle

This defensive and residential structure has been expanded and renovated numerous times. As a result, three architectural styles are visible: Renaissance, Baroque, and Classicism. Our contribution to the renovation included the production of Gothic bricks and large German bricks, which were used in several restorations of the Wawel Royal Castle facade.
Malbork Castle

This prime example of medieval architecture originally belonged to the Teutonic Order. It was built in several stages between 1280 and the mid-15th century. It is a blend of Gothic and Neo-Gothic styles, largely due to numerous reconstructions over the years.
Hand-formed bricks were used during the restoration work:
Floor tiles are used for stairs, flooring, and terracotta bricks (especially indoors). They are available in many shapes and colors. We also offer custom-made bricks.
Red Town Hall in Szczecin

The Town Hall, sometimes called the “New” Town Hall, was completed in 1879 – although its concept originated in 1856. This relatively new building is characterized by a neo-Gothic style. Unfortunately, it was destroyed during World War II – its reconstruction took place between 1959 and 1963. During its most recent renovation, in addition to monastery bricks, engobed brick shapes were used.
These shapes are striking decorative elements for building facades. They can be used for:
We offer various types of bricks in our store, and we produce them primarily for custom orders. As with bricks, we offer a choice of color and face. In addition to engobed bricks, you can also find glazed bricks on our website.
Warmian Chapter Castle in Olsztyn

The castle was built by the Warmia Chapter in the mid-14th century. It is another Gothic structure. One of its residents was Nicolaus Copernicus.
Our hand-formed large Gothic brick was used in its restoration. It measures 33 x 15 x 8.5 cm. It was also used in the construction of the defensive wall in Jarosław.
St. Catherine’s Church in Gdańsk

The Rector’s Church of the Carmelite Fathers of St. Catherine was built between 1227 and 1239. A unique monument is the painting of Our Lady of Bolszowiec. It houses one of the three concert carillons in Poland and the world’s only pulsar clock. In 2006, a fire occurred, but most of the valuable artifacts were saved.
Our Romanesque bricks, measuring 30x15x7cm, were used for the renovation. They are distinguished by their distinctive face. The aged face has numerous pits on the brick faces. Depending on the desired decorative effect, they may also have:
It is also available in orange, cherry, and red in our store.
Holy Trinity Church in Gdańsk

↑ artistic shape “flower”, traditional face, red color

↑ edging, traditional face, orange
This late Gothic church was built for the Franciscans, who were brought to Gdańsk in 1419. Over the years, it was expanded, though it often fell into disrepair, and was severely damaged during the war.
In 2006 and 2009, work was underway to rebuild the turrets. We participated in these projects at the request of a friendly restoration company. In addition to creating the “florals,” we also made the edging.
Our shop offers various types of molded parts, including decorative edging for windows and doors. All of our building materials are hand-formed, allowing us to fulfill custom orders.
St. John’s Church in Gdańsk

↑ shapes: cornice and keystone, traditional face, red color

↑ Shapes: Cornice and Keystone, Traditional Face, Red
The Gothic Church of St. John the Baptist and St. John the Apostle was built in the 14th century and is another valuable monument in Gdańsk. It burned down several times, and its post-war clearing of rubble only began in 1996. It’s no wonder, then, that its renovation took many years and was completed in 2019. Our contribution included preparing two types of shapes – the cornice and the keystone.
In the brickyard’s online store, in addition to traditional bricks, you can find decorative cornices, either main, plinth, or partition. They crown the building’s wall. Keystones (the gable ends of an arch or some types of vault), like the rest of the shapes, are available to order.
Topacz Castle

The manor house in Ślęza, as it was originally called, dates back to the 14th and 15th centuries. Although it survived the war intact, it was not renovated for years. Only in 2002 did the new owners begin modernization, which was completed in 2011.
Hand-formed bricks – an aged melange – were used during the work. Sizes: standard brick and large German brick. The color visible in the photo is due to the combination of orange, red, and cherry bricks.

The brick tiles you can buy at Brickyard Trojanowskie are handmade. Our artisanal methods guarantee a unique effect that cannot be achieved with clinker tiles.
The store offers wall and floor brick tiles. Their size, shape, and color can be customized. Visit our website for more details.
Wall tiles, like hand-formed bricks, are perfect for any home as:
As for the floor brick tiles, they are sure to prove themselves as flooring, stairs, terracotta brick tiles, or walkways. Available shapes are available on our website, but we can also create any custom pattern.

Our factory also produces brick powder. It can be ordered pure or with added clay. The standard proportion is approximately 20% clay, but we can easily agree on the proportions with the customer. This product is used for tennis courts, running tracks, and playing fields. Below are a few of our projects:
Trojanowski Company Brickyard Court in Motycz

We hope that our projects are a testament to the quality and popularity of all our bricks and hand-formed brick products available on our website. Our craftsmanship methods, used for over 40 years, allow us to create a wide variety of brick shapes and sizes. This is one of the reasons why we enjoy such popularity among conservators and individual customers. It’s worth noting that Poland is the only European country still producing bricks by hand.
Finally, we’d like to add a few words about “recycled” bricks. Despite their great popularity, it’s important to remember that they aren’t always suitable for reuse. This isn’t just about the dirt accumulated over the years, but also about mold and fungi that can become active after renovation work is completed. Unlike similar products, our artisan bricks are not only free from plasticizers and dyes, but also pose no health hazards, resulting in a high-quality, healthy, and clean environment.
